what else is Rohail up to these days? “Planning the new Coke Studio season!” While Rohail says it’s too early to say who will be the featured artists on the show and when the planned timeframe is, we’re still excited at the prospect of the show’s second season! Rohail Hyatt has been part of the Pakistani music industry for so long – and is indeed, one of the people who have built it up; but for those who weren’t born in the era when the Vital Signs were the pop band, it’s quite possible they have no clue who he is! And one such example was ‘Princess’ Annie, who walked into Rohail’s studio for a recording, had genuinely no idea who he was, and looked at the TMA award on his shelf and asked, “So are you a producer?”
Just goes on to show how the generation gap is widening large enough for 20-somethings in Pakistan to have different references to Pakistani music than Vital Signs. And Rohail, who was highly amused at this exchange, says it’s a good feeling to see the industry having moved on – but we think it’s a classic moment of the old guard meets a Gen Xer in itself!

it shouldn’t be some kind of surprising because I understand that Annie is not too much in Pakistani music, and Vital signs were very old band and that time! how early 20s may know about them!
