Once again this year, Beaconhouse Defence campus hosted their annual “Battle of the Bands 2010”. With well reputed schools and colleges invited to participate in the event including AC, The Lahore Alma, LGS, LACAS, and The G.C University.

The judges of the battle were Mr. Atif Aslam, and the members of the Overload band, Syed Farhaad Humayun, Mahmood Rahman, Sheraz Siddiq and Meesha Mahmood.

The event was opened by BDC’s own school band and then after intervals of performances the BDC-ites performed at the event but did not compete. Zaran Najeed, the former deputy head boy of BDC and YMC finalist rocked the show with his Eminem’s “slim shaddy” Rap performance. Almost all the 800-900 BDC students were singing with him which made the atmosphere really amusing. The mind blowing performance by the youngsters made it really hard for the judges to decide who the best is.

At the end of the 4 hour battle the judges announced their results which declared Natasha Noorani of LACAS as the best vocalist, Uzair Lateef of LGS as best guitarist and Yusuf Ramay of LACAS as the best Drummer. The trophy of the best band was lifted by LACAS. As the event was sponsored by SAMSUNG Phones, Natasha Noorani received a Samsung Corby cell phone for being the best vocalist. Pakistan’s super model Natasha Hussain was also present at the time of prize distribution to give away the souvenirs.

According to the judges all the participants gave outstanding performances so it was hard for them to decide the winner. And all of them agreed that music should be encouraged in the country from the very start. The event was covered by many TV channels and newspapers and the event was well organized and managed by the BDC council members and the volunteers. Hope to see you again next year B.O.B! Yeeaaahh BDC!!
