They’re the poster boys of Pakistani rock. And they’re here to take Delhi by storm. As part of The South Asian Bands Festival, a Seher, ICCR and Ministry of External Affairs initiative in association with HT City — Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood will pluck some soulful `strings’ tonight with the picturesque Purana Qila in the backdrop. “It’s been two years since we performed here and we can’t wait to get back. We’ve always got great response and respect from Delhiites,” says Kapadia, Strings’ vocalist.

Besides the duo’s smash hits such as Duur, Dhaani and Koi Aane Wala Hai, also a part of their performance will be their new track, Titliyaan. The track, a tribute to the veterans of Pakistan’s performing arts circuit, is the band’s way of introducing the new generation to yesteryear stalwarts. “We want this soulful ballad to bridge the old with the new. It’s our responsibility to make the new generation aware of the great artists Pakistan has produced,” he says. The duo is also set to pop a musical surprise. “Faisal and I have collaborated with singer Atif Aslam for an upbeat song called Ab khud hi kuchh karna padega. The song (written by Bilal) will shake the youth out of their slumber and will inspire them to become socially-responsible,” shares Bilal. While here, the duo will also freeze a few Bollywood offers, one of which is a song for good friend and actor John Abraham’s upcoming film.
