The Jack Daniel’s Annual Rock Awards is kicking off again in October. And it’s back bigger and better. This time, we are looking for the hottest bands from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka to be a part of the Jack Daniel’s Annual Rock Awards to be held in January.

The Jack Daniel’s Annual Rock Awards is back scouting for the best bands not only in India but also Sri Lanka and Pakistan this year.

The Jack Daniel’s Annual Rock Awards has been all about encouraging, promoting and mentoring bands coming up with original music in India, and this year we are inviting bands from Pakistan in Collaborationg with PMR ( www.pakmediarevolution.net ) and Sri Lanka to join the party.

The winning bands from Sri Lanka and Pakistan will get a chance to play at the Jack Daniel’s Annual Rock Awards build-up shows in India. The winning band from India will receive a sum of Rs. 1 Lac or a chance to attend an international music festival organized by Jack Daniel’s within 4 months of the awards function.

Band Entry Terms and Conditions:

The Jack Daniel’s Annual Rock Awards is a competition organised by Jack Daniel’s in association with Rolling Stone (“the Promoter”).

Open to persons aged 21 years or over only, excluding employees of the Promoter, its agencies and their families, agents and anyone else connected with this promotion. For the avoidance of doubt, for a band to be eligible, each member must be 21 or over.

Entries are accepted online. Entries will be accepted online at www.jdrockawards.com in the “How to Enter” section and a demo must be provided (uploaded onto the site or myspace url supplied where your songs are featured). By entering, the person submitting the entry guarantees that all band members agree to these terms and conditions. Only fully completed, legible, original paper entry forms will be accepted.

The Closing Date for entries from Sri Lanka is 12th October 2010, Pakistan is 24th October 2010 and India is 20th November 2010. Bands from Pakistan and Sri Lanka are eligible for nominations only for the Best Band of the Year (Critics Choice).

Third party or bulk applications will be invalid. No responsibility is accepted for any entry form or demo that is lost, delayed or damaged.

Uploaded songs will be judged by a panel made up of representatives of Jack Daniel’s and its music promotional agency.
Songs uploaded must have been released between 1st October 2009 and 30th September 2010.
The decision of the jury panel in shortlisting of the nominations in each category will be the final. The decision of the jury panel regarding the winners in each category will over ride the popular vote in case of different results as per the jury votes and the popular votes.

All elements of a participating band’s music, lyrics and performance must be in good taste. Each member of a participating band must at all times during participation in the competition and any associated activity conduct themselves properly and decently and no band (nor any of its members) shall do anything which in the judgement of Jack Daniel’s may be detrimental to the reputation of Jack Daniel’s. Any breach of this term may, at the discretion of any of the judges or the Promoter, result in disqualification from the competition.

The winning bands from Sri Lanka and Pakistan will get a chance to play at the Jack Daniel’s Annual Rock Awards build-up shows in India. The winning band from India will receive a sum of Rs. 1 Lac or a chance to attend an international music festival organized by Jack Daniel’s within 4 months of the awards function.

Winners will be bound by the terms imposed by any third parties providing services as part of the prize. Promoter cannot accept responsibility for the acts or omissions of third parties.

All Jack Daniel’s Annual Rock Awards entrants agree to their images (stills photography and/or video) and biographical details, as well as an audio and visual recordings of their performance(s) in the competition, being used for reasonable publicity purposes by Jack Daniel’s.

Winners in the finale will be required to take part in reasonable publicity on behalf of Jack Daniel’s (this may include but not be limited to: photographers, interviews, quotes for local media).

Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winning band, should any member of the original winning band not validate their identity and age and comply with all other prize qualification requirements set out in these terms within 30 days of having been notified by the Promoter as the winner.

The prize package is as stated, is non-transferable and there is no cash alternative.

Promoter reserves the right to award an alternative prize, or alternative prize package elements, of equal or greater value should the original prize, or elements thereof, become unavailable for any reason.

Promoter reserves the right to withdraw or amend this promotion in the event of any unforeseen circumstances outside its reasonable control.

This promotion and these terms are governed by Indian law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Delhi Courts.

The decision of Promoter in all matters is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

All Jack Daniel’s Annual Rock Awards’ participants/entrants acknowledge and agree that their photographs, images, biographical details, audio and visual recordings of their performance(s) in the Jack Daniel’s Annual Rock Awards may be used by Brown Forman Worldwide LLC for reasonable publicity purposes including television commercials/spots, radio advertising, hoardings, banners, posters, panels and marketing materials.

Any malpractices in the voting system that come to light will result in penal action. The appropriate penal action will be decided solely by the jury.
