Atif Aslam will soon start shooting for a three-month-long musical reality TV show, Sur Kshetra, where he will be captaining the Pakistani singers and Indian singer Himesh Reshammiya will captain the Indian side. The show will be shot in Dubai and will most likely go on air early next year.
Apart from this show, Atif will also be jamming once again for the Coke Studio sessions. Atif mentioned in an interview with HindustanTimes that he “will also be performing with a couple of popular Rajasthani folk artistes,”. Our sources told us Atif will perform for the Pakistani version of the show. Also, it is unlikely that the members of Pakistan America: Peace Through Music Project would jam for the Indian live music show. As this news has been released by the Indian media, we are trying to confirm it from Coke Studio Pakistan and as soon as we get the confirmation, we will update this page.
Atif also said that he loves the concept of Coke Studio and it was hard for him to say “no” to it. “I’m looking forward to the session, it’s been a dream of sorts… On Coke Studio, we get a chance to play different genres of music with different artistes. I love the concept of the show and just couldn’t say no.”
