Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif appealed the nation to observe Friday as Yaum-e-Dua (day of prayers) for Malala Yousafzai who is currently fighting the battle for life after being attacked by Taliban in Swat.

In a statement issued here, the Chief Minister called for special prayers for the 14-year old winner of National Peace Award in government offices, offices of Muslim League-N, mosques and worship places of minorities.

Meanwhile, IG Punjab, Habib-ur-Rehman has said that all out efforts will be made to unearth the culprits involved in the attack, if the Punjab police got hold of evidence relevant to the case.

Calling Malala Yousafzai as a ‘brave daughter’, the IG said that Punjab police would also observe Friday as ‘Yaum-e-Dua’.

Christian community leader, Kamran Michael said that special prayer services would be arranged in Churches on Sunday for the speedy recovery of Malala Yousafzai.
