Amidst the arrival of Bollywood royalty including the likes of Aishwarya Rai and Shahrukh
Khan, the Times of India Film Awards officially kicked off in Vancouver, Canada
with a major televised extravaganza. In a packed stadium seating over fifteen thousand
people including Bollywood’s glitterati, Abbas Hasan emerged on stage with an explosive
performance medley of his hits including a preview of his upcoming single with Rishi Rich
entitled “Away”. Actress Neha Dhupia introduced him on stage as the next big heartthrob,
opening the stage to his unique French-Hindi-English sound. Abbas has been the only
fresh new face introduced in the first ever TOIFA, which has been the biggest Bollywood
awards show in history in Indian cinema. Such was the attention on him that a flurry of press
followed him for the rest of the night.

“What a crazy night. I’m humbled by the amazing reaction from the industry and the crowd
was just awesome. A massive thanks to Naila Mughal, Cineyug, KKings Entertainment and
of course the Times of India group for all the love.”

Abbas has been causing furore since his arrival at the Pan Pacific Hotel where his arrival
was greeted by hoards of screaming fans and camera flashes. His reaction was:
“It feels amazing to be here and the Vancouver fans know how to make some serious noise!”

The event also featured veteran artists including Sunidhi Chauhan (Band Bajaa Baaraat,
Dhoom), Shalmali Kholgade (Cocktail, Race 2, Aiyaa), Mohit Chauhan (Ek Tha Tiger,
Barfi) and Hard Kaur among others.

Since his performance, rumours are circulating about film offers and a deal with Times of
India group, to which Abbas says with a cheeky smile:
“If there’s any news you’ll have to wait and find out!”

After his return from Vancouver, the star is all set to unveil “Away”. The song is produced
by legend Rishi Rich with support of his protégé Naamless. After two number one hits in
the Asian charts, anticipation for Abbas Hasan’s new single with Rishi Rich is high.
