Lahore : On the orders of caretaker chief minister of Punjab, Najam Sethi, an amount of Rs500,000 has been released for the ailing renowned folk singer Reshma, who is currently undergoing medical treatment at a local hospital here .

Earlier, the caretaker CM while lauding Reshma for her invaluable contributions in the promotion of Pakistan’s culture and music said that she, through her folk singing, introduced the rich culture of Pakistan to the world.

He said that the Government of Pakistan values Reshma’s contribution and would do its utmost for her medical treatment.

Sethi also directed the relevant authorities for providing every possible assistance and best medical treatment to the folk songstress. He as well prayed for her early recovery.

It may be mentioned that the President of Pakistan had already authorized a stipend of Rs.10, 000/- per month for Reshma.
