Exclusive Interview with Blackhour

PMR:  Please give us a brief bio, where you guyz are from and how you started in this field?

Blackhour:  Blackhour is a band that was started with a vision of awakening and empowering the youth all over the world. The band was founded by Hashim Mehmood during the end of 2007 in Islamabad. The band currently comprises of TayyabRehman on vocals; Hashim Mehmood and Mubbashir Sheikh Mashoo on guitars; Salman Afzal on bass and DiamMehmood on drums. However, in reaching where it is today Blackhour owes a great deal to all the ex-members including SaadJaved and Hassan Rauf.

PMR:  When did you guys first discover your creative talents?

Blackhour:  We all started at a very early age back in our teens and we have been exploring and maturing on our skills ever since. Within a band it all just clicked.

PMR:  What inspires you to keep going and how do you keep yourself motivated?

Blackhour:  Our sole motivation is the love our fans have for us and our music. Drives us further and further.

PMR:  How do you guys bridge the between you and your fans ?

Blackhour: Blackhour is all about the live performance. Our fans can follow us on Facebook (www.facebook.com/blackhourofficial) and on sound cloud (www.soundcloud.com/blackhour-1).

PMR:  According to you why Islamabad music scene is not as much live as Lahore and Karachi?

Blackhour:  Depends on where there is more market for heavy metal music.

PMR:  What are your upcoming projects?

Blackhour:  Currently we are focusing on coming up with videos for our already existing songs and also new singles are under progress as well. Apart from that Blackhour is all about live performance band so there are a lot of gigs and concerts to look forward to.

PMR:  What’s the best event you’ve played at?

Blackhour:  Hellfest Pakistan, biggest Pakistani metal festival.

PMR:  If you got a record deal at this second, would you accept it?

Blackhour:  Playing live and getting our songs to a higher national and international audience is what Blackhour aims to do with or without a record deal.

PMR:  Which metal band do you like the most?

Blackhour:  Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Alice in Chains.

PMR:  Which of your songs do you think fans will be the most surprised to hear from you?

Blackhour:  Salvation.

PMR:  What do you think makes your fan base so dedicated?

Blackhour:  They are true and loyal fans.

PMR:  What is the inspiration behind the name ‘Blackhour’?

Blackhour:  Has a vibe and ring to it.

PMR:  Tell us about your first Album ‘Age of War’?

Blackhour:  Blackhour released its first studio album, Age of War in the late 2011; which was very well received throughout the world. The album sold hundreds of copies in countries like Australia, USA, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Pakistan. ‘Age Of War’ is a concept album based on all the dark events Pakistan was facing, quite similar to fighting a war.

PMR:  What do you think about when you’re onstage performing?

Blackhour:  To give everything we have got.

PMR:  Any Message to your Fans?

Blackhour:  Stay true to metal and keep supporting. Together we create Blackhour.
