‘Mumbai Policegiri’ – Pakistani Band not given Permission to Perform

The very popular, flag-holder band of Jazz music in Pakistan, Sachal Jazz Ensemble, was not allowed by Indian Mumbai Police to perform on a show. The band had to call off the performance after city police withheld the permission for seven ‘Pakistani’ members of the jazz band to perform.

It was said that the seven musicians in ‘Sachal Jazz Ensemble’ are Pakistani and remaining three of them are British. The crowd of hundreds was left stunned after the last minute cancellation of the show of the internationally famed band.

The band had to perform “jazz and ragas” at the NCPA as they had tweeted earlier. Unluckily, the performance which had to start at 7 pm didn’t find the permission and was cancelled around 7:40 pm. According to the reports, the UK based artists of the band were given permission to perform, however, only remaining seven Pakistani members were kept away from performing in front of the fans who had gathered in large numbers.
